And when she says, "My best is yet to come," she further raises the bar a few unreachable notches for budding actresses.
Charmee, Trisha and Genelia are promising heroines," she says referring to the new Tollywood heroines. They, she says, have set a trend in Tollywood. "Especially when it comes to fashion, what's often described as garish is now replaced with everything chic and trendy," she adds.Ramya may not have kissed her acting career goodbye, but for now the part she likes to play is that of a busy mom, wife and a television producer. "After the last movie that I acted in I was glad to take a break. My work with the first Telugu game and chat show, has taught me that being a TV producer is a huge challenge. Acting is easier that TV production. You have to be clued into so many minute details and string them all together. And then I have a family too," she shares. In 2003, she married Tollywood director Krishna Vamsi and made Hyderabad her home . "I've acted in so many Tollywood films and have stayed here so often that Hyderabad has been my home even before I moved here for good, from Chennai," she says. Though caught up with everyday chores on the home front and work behind the scenes for the first-of-its-kind TV show, she fondly reminisces her glorious film career. "Narsimha was the best film I acted in," she responds instantly, and even rattles off a list of top-notch stars she's acted with, quite unassumingly. For the record, Rajnikant, Chiranjeevi, Kamal Hassan and even the Big B feature high on the list. But one wonders if there would ever be a role that she's never had a chance to play, and pat comes the reply, "I've been in the industry long enough and have had an opportunity to enact a myriad roles. From being a heroine, to a vamp and much more." But who can tell. Ramya Krishna has always sprung up surprises.
